Constraining baryon annihilation in the hadronic phase of heavy-ion collisions via event-by-event fluctuations

چکیده

We point out that the variance of net-baryon distribution normalized by Skellam baseline, $\kappa_2[B-\bar{B}]/\langle B+\bar{B}\rangle$, is sensitive to possible modification (anti)baryon yields due $B\bar{B}$ annihilation in hadronic phase. The corresponding measurements can thus place stringent limits on magnitude and its inverse reaction. perform Monte Carlo simulations phase Pb-Pb collisions at LHC via recently developed subensemble sampler + UrQMD afterburner show effect survives net-proton fluctuations, which are directly accessible experimentally. available experimental data ALICE Collaboration fluctuations disfavors a notable suppression annihilations predicted present version if only global baryon conservation incorporated. On other hand, improve description when local imposed. two effects be disentangled measuring $\kappa_2[B+\bar{B}]/\langle notably suppressed but virtually unaffected number conservation.

Study of Event-by-event Fluctuations in Heavy Ion Collisions

We propose Kolmogorov-Smirnov test as a means for recognising event-by-event fluctuations of rapidity distributions in relativistic heavy ion collisions. Such fluctuations may be induced by the spinodal decomposition of the rapidly expanding system during the 1st order quark-hadron phase transition.

Event-by-Event Fluctuations in Heavy Ion Collisions and the QCD Critical Point

The event-by-event fluctuations of suitably chosen observables in heavy ion collisions can teach us much about the thermodynamic properties of the hadronic system at the time interactions freeze out. By studying these fluctuations as a function of varying control parameters like collision energy, centrality, ion size and rapidity, it is possible to learn much about the phase diagram of QCD. As ...

Event – by – event fluctuations in heavy – ion collisions and the quark – gluon string model

We apply dynamical string models of heavy–ions collisions at high energies to the analysis of event–by–event fluctuations. Main attention is devoted to a new variable proposed to study ”equilibration” in heavy–ions collisions. Recent results of the NA49 collaboration at CERN SPS are compared with predictions of the Quark–Gluon String Model (QGSM), which gives a good description of different asp...

Event-by-Event Fluctuations of Transverse Momentum and Multiparticle Clusters in Relativistic Heavy-Ion Collisions

This paper is based on our recent analysis [1] of the eventby-event fluctuations of the mean transverse-momentum measured by PHENIX [2] and STAR [3, 4] Collaborations at RHIC. The discussed new data has extended our knowledge of the phenomena studied intensely in recent years [5–20]. One of the central issues in this field is whether the pT fluctuations at intermediate momenta result from jets ...

Event-by-event Fluctuations in Hydrodynamical Description of Heavy-ion Collisions *

Non-negligible effects appear for several observable quantities, even for a fixed impact parameter b. They are sensitive to the equation of state, being the dispersions of the observable quantities i...
